Day 1 Completed
Vicente Delgado needed two bullets on Day 1 of the European Poker Tour Cyprus $50,000 Super High Roller, but he made the most of his second chance.
Delgado ended the day as an overwhelming chip leader over the remaining 16 players with 1,880,000, more than double his closest challenger. He busted defending champion Juan Pardo in a flip with nines against ace-queen, then made a big hero call on the river with just second pair to eliminate Samuel Mullur in a massive pot and began to separate from the rest of the field. He finally stunned Morten Klein with a set of fours as Klein was left with two pair on his way back to the registration desk.
The Spaniard is no stranger to competing against pokers top players. He has $1.7 million in career live earnings, including finishing second to Pardo in this event last year at EPT Cyprus for $583,400. Known as vicenfish online, he also made the final table of the SCOOP Main Event last year.

Day 1 of the $50,000 Super High Roller has wrapped up with 16 of the 36 entries bagging and tagging a stack.
So far, $1,746,360 has been collected in the prize pool, and that figure is expected to grow thanks to the Day 2 late registration.
Full chip counts and recap will follow shortly.
Ognyan Dimov raised from the cutoff and Manuel Fritz defended his big blind.
Fritz check-called for 13,000 on the J?9?3? flop and then then check-jammed for around 80,000 on the K? turn, after Dimov sized up to 28,000. The Bulgarian called as the bigger stack and the cards were tabled.
Manuel Fritz: KxQx
Ognyan Dimov: A?K?
Both players had top pair but Dimov's kicker was better. The A? river gave Dimov two pair and the checkmark for the bust out.

Tournament officials announced that players will see three more hands on Day 1 before bagging up their chips for the night.
Morten Klein raised to 10,000 in the hijack and Daniel Rezaei called in the cutoff. Johannes Straver then moved all in for 104,000 in the small blind, Klein reshoved, and Rezaei got out of the way.
Johannes Straver: J?10?
Morten Klein: K?Q?
The Q?8?2? flop gave Klein top pair and Straver a straight draw. The 6? turn was safe for Klein, while the 7? fell on the river to send Straver to the rail in the closing moments of the day.
"I had ten-nine of hearts," Klein's nemesis Vicente Delgado said.
"I believe you. It would've surprised me if it didn't come," Klein replied.

Thomas Eychenne opened to 10,000 from under the gun before Dimitar Danchev put in his last 63,000 from the button. Morten Klein cold-called from the small blind and Eychenne also matched the wager.
Klein and Eychenne checked through to showdown.
Danchev's 9?9? was best on the 10?8?2?3?2? board as Eychenne and Klein's KxQx failed to connect.
